From January to June of this year, 1,639 cruise ship arrivals were recorded in Mexican ports, a 7.8% increase compared to 2024, she specified in a statement.

The ports that received the highest number of visitors were Cozumel and Mahahual, in the state of Quintana Roo; Ensenada, in Baja California; Cabo San Lucas, in Baja California Sur; and Puerto Vallarta, in Jalisco.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Tourism, the destination with the most activity, Cozumel, received 685 arrivals and 2.4 million passengers.

Meanwhile, Mahahual received 302 cruise ships and 1.2 million tourists, while Cabo San Lucas recorded 134 arrivals with 480,198 passengers.

The secretary emphasized that these figures confirm Mexico’s privileged position in the global cruise tourism market, a result of the strengthening of the National Port System.

“These figures confirm that Mexico is consolidating itself as one of the most attractive destinations in the world for cruise tourism. The strengthening of the National Port System, through the investment announced by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and the coordinated work between the three levels of government, will translate this growth into economic development and well-being for the country’s port communities,” assured Rodríguez Zamora.
